Four labels. Each says exactly what we did.
Every credential on a Reputick page carries one of these labels. A stronger label means a stronger check of the record. It is never a rating of the trainer.
Verified at source
Tier 1What we did
Reputick verified a matching, active record in a source the issuing body controls or publishes: its own verification portal, an official register, or a direct written confirmation.
What it does not prove
That the trainer is currently competent, safe or well-conducted. It proves the credential record exists and matches.
Registry-confirmed
Tier 2What we did
We matched the credential to a published registry maintained by a third party, or received written confirmation from that registry.
What it does not prove
The registry's own accuracy. We rely on the registry being current.
Document reviewed
Tier 3What we did
Reputick examined the document itself against known issuer formats and guidance: layout, seals, references, dates. The issuer did not independently confirm it.
What it does not prove
That the document is genuine beyond doubt. A well-made forgery can pass a document review. That is why this label is never shortened to “Verified”.
Self-declared, not checked
Tier 4What we did
Nothing. The trainer entered this credential and we display it with this label until it is submitted and checked.
What it does not prove
Anything at all. Treat it as the trainer's own claim.
One limit that applies to everything
Reputick verifies the trainer's email and requires the holder name on the credential to match the profile name. Reputick does not perform government-ID checks, so a determined impersonator could still adopt another person's name. Reputick has not eliminated this risk. Something wrong? Report a concern.
